For me, creating in matter is a basic need. It  keeps
me flowing, melting the crusts and knots in me by looking and listening and feeling and touching until the intensity of attention burns, almost painfully, the inner material into a malleable clay.

in creativity, when it flows, there are flashes of an exact knowing of what to do and why. Meaning is the most real material in the whole process, the matter is just the mold from which others drink the meaning we poured into it, mixed with their perceptual saliva and the fragrances of its context.

Art is communicating what we don't even understand ourselves, but merge with while we're 'saying' it.
